Still Life in the Style of the Old Masters
Original oil paintings ...

...inspired by the way in which the Old Masters of the 16th to the 18th centuries created their luminous and atmospheric Still Life. By studying the way in which these artists painted, Susanne's aim is to replicate the brush work and glazing techniques that enabled them to faithfully reproduce anything from a delicate porcelain tea cup to heavy stonework and reinterpret it for the modern age.

Only antique (over 100 years old) or reproduction items are painted and only fruit varieties found in the U.K. before 1900, hundreds of which have disappeared in the last half-century. The pictures are then antiqued and lightly distressed to give the appearance of age and are framed into old, antique or restored frames.
